It's probably a common misconception (especially after recent protests were put down) that Ahmadinejad has something like absolute power in Iran. Only a few weeks ago he was pressured to fire the man he wanted to become vice president. Ahmadinejad has only as much power as the Supreme Leader grants him. And even the current Supreme Leader served only two terms when he was president in the 1980ies.

Yes, that's what always drove me nuts, when people, who want to bomb Iran, don't know anything about this country at all  Tongue
