Given our wonderful Attorney General's crusade against dispensaries, as well as the medicinal marijuana proposal that was passed by double-digits in 2008, this isn't surprising in the least.
It seems like he's going all-in with this moral crusade in hopes of running for Governor in 2018. This approach is completely tone-deaf to public opinion (latest polls show a plurality of Michigan voters supporting legalization) and recently-approved ballot measures (Detroit, Flint, and Grand Rapids all recently voted to decriminalize marijuana). He'll likely have a lot of explaining to do once he hits the campaign trail.
He'll probably win next year, though.
