Friends, moments ago I took the oath of office for Governor of the Mideast. Over the coming months I look forward to working with the Assembly and all citizens to move our region forward. It is our obligation to the people to bring down unemployment, create new energy sources, create a stable economy, and finish our first regional budget so we can have government transparency. Together we can build a brighter future. I ask every citizen to join us in building a better government. Contact your Assemblymembers, contact me, access our government board, join the debates, share your ideas. The Assemblymember may get the vote, but you are the ones that give them that power. Use it.

Has the region used the 3.9 billion dollars that I got put at the disposal of the region in the Stimulus Act?

No, since we would have to have a specific legislation bill passed allocating the funds correct?

Governor A-Bob, I'm not familiar with past budgets of the Mideast Region so I'd like to ask, what steps have you taken to decrease (or increase) Government spending and why do you feel decreasing and or increasing the allocation of funds to specific programs are necessary?

-Jake Matthews

(I'm a little bored but I'm also interested in seeing how you're doing so far with the budget Tongue)

This is our first budget ever, so there's nothing to compare it to. If you want to occupy yourself feel free to click the link for pages of discussion on those subjects, debates, and other links/sites where the data came from.

Yes, the regional legislation, so the region has that money available whenever the Assembly decides what to do with it.

It would help, as I previously suggested, if someone (perhaps the Gov?) were to add in the stimulus funds to the proposed budget. With that, all I have to do is factor in estate, excise and "other" taxes and the budget structure is done. Then its up to you guys to figure out what you want to cut, tax, and incur debt on.

THat was what I was planning on doing. Use the stimulus money to help pay for the overall budget.

Statement 3

I encourage all citizens to visit our wiki page to see the work of the 16th assembly here: https://uselectionatlas.org/AFEWIKI/index.php/Mideast_Statute#Legislation_Considered_in_the_16th_Assembly:

Our Assembly has done a fine job with refining current legislation to best represent the needs of the Mideast as well as making sure all unfinished business of the 15th session got a fair hearing.

*Note. It seems our Assembly has been so active with governing, everybody including me, forgot we actually have elections  As seen with only 2 announced candidates (both about a month ago). Thank you Speaker Inks for the reminder.

Inks, Cathcon, Afleitch, Swedish Cheese, and Ogis are elected to the next Assembly, congratulations to them all.

Please feel free to double check my calculations if you would like, I would hate for there to be an error.

Statement 6

My prays go out to the Brye family who were kidnapped and brutally murdered by Mexican drug-cartel members. Mr. Brye fiercely fought drugs here in his home of Virginia and the Mideast. He is a reminder to us all that we must secure our borders, and rid our nation and region of these drugs which lead to ruined lives. May we all remember the Brye family as we consider policy relating to fighting drugs.

Statement 7

Due to today’s traumatic storm, I hereby declare a state of emergency for the portions of the Mideast region affected by the physical tornados. I also order the National Guard and the Regional Guard of the Mideast to deploy to these areas affected for peacekeeping operations as well for disaster relief support.

I request the chief executives of Kentucky and Virginia, dispatch the state guard to assist the National and Regional Guards in disaster relief and peacekeeping operations.

Citizens should report any and all misconduct by members of the Mideast Regional Guard and the National Guard, and/or their State Militia to the desk at the nearest Regional or Federal Building. Citizens should also report any criminal activity to the Regional, National and/or State Militias as well as police and local security forces.

Governor A-Bob

P.S. Thank you Emperor Pit for letting me base my response off of your statement due to my long absense today since my car battery died Smiley carry on

Statement 8

Today marked a horrible tragedy in our region and nation. The Gateway Arch was destroyed today in an effort to kill civilians and destroy a national symbol. This act of terrorism will not stand. I hereby order a state of emergency in St. Louis in order to quickly and effectively find any survivors trapped and to ensure public order. I ask all civilians to remain calm today and work with local and regional officials and law enforcement as we hunt down the person responsible.

While today is a dark day in our region, I am confident we will never be stronger. We will rebuild our lives, homes, and city. We must reach into our hearts to find compassion toward one enough and become a strong community in these difficult times.

Tonight my prays are with the families in St. Louis. I will continue to monitor the situation and give my full cooperation with the federal government to find the one responsible.

Just so we don't all forget, I'd like to remind everyone we have elections coming up in two weeks so if you want a seat in the Assembly, announce now so we don't have an epic write-in campaign like last time. Also Governor and Senate should be mentioned

Statement 9

I have directed all regional law enforcement and security forces to work with the federal government in hunting down these Al Qaeda operatives, to bring them to justice. Terrorism will not stand in the Mideast or Atlasia. I have full confidence in our President in ensuring these men will be brought to justice.

I don't believe you can legally open it before midnight, though I could be wrong.

meh, I'll open it one minute after my computer says its time just to be certain about the time on the Atlas then
