I'm not sure if the vote on Senator PiT's amendment is still open, but if so I vote Nay.

I was also going to object to Senator JoMCaR's amendment.

Senators should also be aware that by repealing the full Act, they will be ripping away minimum wage equalization for tipped and non-tipped employees.  Something that would be cruel and perfidious on our part.

I assume that Senator JoMCaR's amendment has been carried; once that has been certified by the Speaker, I formally introduce the following amendment.

My amendment is intended to be a compromise to this flawed attempt at simply rolling back the entire Act. There is already a conservative majority that is prepared to go back to 40 hours, so I do not understand why Senators opposed to that would not try to lower the impact -- that is the point of legislative debate.

Just back to the point that I was discussing with the Senator for the Midwest, one can be opposed to the bill in its overall form but attempt to lessen it's impact and severity.

I do not envision supporting this bill in its final form, but I will be somewhat pleased that it was at least amended to a less-radical nature.

As far as the action of the President, or current President-elect go, well who knows?  I would assume that either gentlemen would not sign this bill, but I do not think we should simply abdicate any semblance of the legislative process on that assumption.
