In my gut I feel like Deal won't run just because of his age and so he can take his retirement pension - he was basically bankrupt before the election.

Almost no chance Barnes runs though, under either circumstance. Barrow might be interested. Perhaps some of the Dems that Roy crushed in 2010 give it another go? Thurbert Baker comes to mind...

On the Republican side, if it's an open seat, I have a suspicion Ralston might be looking for a promotion.

AdamGriffin and I were talking on IRC- would there be sufficient interest in a Georgia Megathread, where we can talk about 2012, 2014, and beyond? We have enough active Georgians now to make it work. Maybe enough to (almost) rival the WA thread
