<GM comes up for air after work>

I suppose as de facto head of the Fed by virtue of Yank's recent bill (or its voice for game purposes at least) I guess I should comment on this.

While I don't have a problem with an audit of the Fed--either in real life or Atlasia--I would note this bill would essentially freeze all lending or other transactions by the Fed for a full month. This would essentially freeze the banking industry nationwide.

Every bank or other financial institution that undergoes an audit rarely has its finances and assets frozen for the audit's duration. The rare exception being patent criminal enterprises--which the bill's sponsor seems to include the Fed--with court orders backing the freeze. The vast majority of institutions simply continue business normally while the audit is undertaken, but must of course account for all transactions taken during the audit period to the auditors. Why should the Federal Reserve be any different in this regard, particularly when the impact during that month would be nationwide and disastrous (albeit short term)?

Well, to be fair, I just took the section word-for-word from the original bill. Tongue

I'll edit it.

No. However, it's intended to replace the entire bill.

Did I do that wrong? I am a freshie. Wink

Shouldn't my amendment be voted on first? Tongue

When did Fantasyland get a Federal Reserve? Huh

When the game began, all US laws passed before 2004 became Atlasian laws. So the Fed was just "adopted."

I thought you withdrew it to introduce it separately?

I can halt the final vote if you want.

Well, I did intend to simply replace this bill. But, I don't really see the need in halting the vote.

Nay.
