Why is Kentucky "strong Bush"?

I can't even begin to tell you how hugely unpopular Bush is in Kentucky.

Kentucky is Strong Bush b/c there haven't been any polls there within the last 8 weeks, and in 2000 the state voted for Bush by >10%.

KY in 2000

It's not entirely inconceivable.

With the Iraq torture scandal, I wonder why Bush isn't getting stomped in every state.

Which one of your internet buddies found out about his one?

Found about what?

This so called "Iraq torture scandle".  I thought that he had made it up, but then I honestly remembered that I had seen it on the American Socialist Party website.  That wasn't a joke.

are you talking about this?

Report: Iraq prisoners faced 'sadistic' abuses

U.S. tries to calm furor caused by photos

or, are you talking about something else?

I'l bet you $50K that Bush wins Kentucky.

Fifty bucks is nothing compared to all the money everyone will lose if Bush continues to destroy the economy.

He actually betted 50 G or $50, 000.

No guys, our troops are abusing Iraqis.  They are all war criminals.  Terrible people.  We should put Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Franks and all the American troops on trial at The Hague.  They all deserve the death penalty.  And Bush is starving people in this country too.  He is worse then Stalin.  The American people don't believe this now, but when they find out, Bush will lose every state besides Utah and that doesn't matter, because we will just have to declare war on Utah when Kerry is president.  Then when we have control, we can take al of the Catholic bishops in this country out and have a public execution, because they are all a buntch of evil oppressors.  And then we'll find Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh and execute them too.  Workers of the World, UNITE!!!!!!!

This sounds as bad as Bandit predicting KY for Kerry.

No one is saying the whole army. Stop exaggerating the situation. Also, your beloved president didn't like this one bit. I am happy he right away condemn it.

I didn't see a sigle photo of abuse in the slide show.  If fact, most of it was just the same photos 4 over and over again and none of them showed any photos of abuse.  If this isn't played-up then I don't know what is.

I see you have not seen my post on this.

If I search the internet under "S&M" it thinkt that I could probably find pictures just like those and post them as what ever I want.

I all seriousness though, why should this hurt Bush, if it is true, as Bandit suggests.  Clearly, we have some sick individuals here who are no where near representative of the US effort as a whole.  Problem is, people like Bandit and a lot of other liberals think that we should use this as a means to judge the rest of the US Army and the Bush administration.  This should be a non-issue.  Of course, the media doesn't bother to put out any of the millions of pictures of US soldiers do ing possitive things.

You still think this is a fake? Hello, have you been listening to the news? O, wait, the news is liberal, so this must be some mass left-wing conspiracy.

Army Reserve Chief Condemns Prison Abuse

Blair Says Appalled by Iraq Abuse Photos

You are assuming too much by saying, liberals want to protray that the whole army is like this. How is this a non-issue? If we don't play by the rules, why should any of our enemies treat POW any different? Don't give me, they already do because how does our nation look like if we look the other way. I mean, come on.

The Point is...rock 'n' roll oldies. No, seriously, the point is that Bush stinks.

I have to make it clear that Kentuckians think Bush stinks, so people in other states won't think Kentucky is some backwards place.

I feel your pain on PA dude.  Where I'm from Kerry has about a 3 to 1 advantage and that's among whites.  Bush at times winning???  I know a lot of people that voted Bush in 2000 that are regretting it and either not voting or going Kerry.  This is of course coming from a "Southeast PA liberal."

Well, I go regularly between my home in the "T" and my appartment up here and Erie and I can tell you that i know plenty of people who voted for Gore last time who at least think they might vote for Bush this time and I know a lot of people who voted Gore last time who are disgusted with Kerry.

Just like you thought Toomey was going to win. Smiley

I couldn't resist.

Okay, this whole, I know someone who voted for blah blah and is going to vote for yada yada arguement is so unscientific. I have seen both democrats and republicans using this arguement. It is a rather weak argument.

Acctually, I have been to busy with school to pay much attention to the news this week to be honest.

Anyway, here we have a couple of sick bastards who are doing this.  tHat is in no-way representative of the US military as a whole, but it is being played up to be.

I never said all those things you are putting into my mouth.  this is a terrible thing, but I don't see it as huge issue.  Stuff like this has gone on in past wars on a larger scale.  If these things were a daily occurance than we would here about it all the time, because of the massive media coverage.

So you, come on.

Well, I suggest you inform yourself before you make an assumption - just my honest advice.

No one is saying the whole army is like this. People have high standards for soldiers and when something this sick and horrible like this happens, people are shock. It is like when we find out a doctor was killing some of their patient or something.

"Problem is, people like Bandit and a lot of other liberals think that we should use this as a means to judge the rest of the US Army and the Bush administration." um... did I misread something?

Just because something damaging comes out of the news doesn't mean it is always for the intent of Bush bashing. I commend the President for immediately condemning this isolated situation and hope it can be further prevented in the future. One of the core values of a soldier is honor and valor and I would hate for anyone to not live up to these values.

Where is the good, news?  If you don't think that things like this are being used to charecterize the US army and the Bush administration then how come they don't report good news with this kind of vigor?  The only place you can go to see good news is FOX and since that isn't a real news agency according to some, I guess that it doesn't count.  If this isn't being explioted by the left to charecterize the whole effort then how come all these peace organiztions have plastered the photos all over their websites?

Be realistic. The news mostly presents only bad news.
