Here's the paradox for Romney:

He's polling the strongest against Obama but as Obama slips he does so also against other Republicans.  Allocating undecideds by their approval of Obama also leaves him ahead of Bachmann only by 2, within the margin of error.   As Romney moves into a better position to beat Obama, his electability argument simultaneously becomes weaker as more conservative alternatives also move into a better position to beat Obama.
