You people who have 0,0,0, disgust me

Seconded.
I mean with the amount of uber politicially correct twats it's shocking some of you don't even have one post (considering that some of you have posting histories) reported.
By the way, and I believe the mods can back me up on this one, I have never reported anybody in my entire history on this forum (even though some of you were really asking for it).  SO if you have one less post than you think you deserve, that is why.  Mechaman is truly merciful.

This also brings me to another point:
I talked to Kalwejt and it seems that in the past few days he's been hit by like a wave of moderated posts........FROM LIKE ALMOST 7 GODDAMN MONTHS AGO.  Now consider this possibility: That some poster might have it out for Kalwejt (or anybody else for that matter) and they decide to go through Kalwejt's posting history to look for offensive posts.  Now suppose that they report enough posts that get moderated to get Kalwejt either into mod review or banned.......you get the picture?
Now I know Kalwejt isn't a well liked guy from some of us, but what if this were to happen to someone more respectable, like PiT?  What if suddenly a few days from now PiT gets a bunch of reported posts from say a year ago that gets him into mod review and once he's out of mod review the same pathetic SOB who reported PiT the first time goes back to two year old posts and reports PiT even more to the point of getting him banned?
A hypothetical, but still very possible given the setup........
I want this reporting system to be fair and not something that can be used by one poster to declare war against other forumers so they can make them "internet dead".

That shouldn't be happening, and if it does to anyone, contact the moderator involved.  Considering that infractions themselves expire after 3 months, it would be improper for any moderator to count those, but we can make mistakes.  Those infractions would be very likely to be rescinded.

But, again, the only person I can remember going through another poster's history and reporting 3+ month old posts is, ironically enough, Kalwejt...

I don't know what he's talking about, as I went through every REPORT against him, not even counting infractions [I think - may have missed one or two], for the entire month of June, and I didn't see one that wasn't for a post of his in the month of June, let alone from 2009 as you imply...so I just don' see the "wave" that you're talking about.
Okay, thanks for clearing that up.
I did see this mentioned in another thread but I wasn't sure how the infraction thing worked.  So pretty much if a user reports a post from like 7 months ago two days ago it wouldn't count as an "infraction"?
Just checking.
I trust your word Lunar.

Note: I may have overreacted with the word "wave", actually Kal griped that a month ago someone reported him for something he posted in September, and he has been pming me about how much the reporting system pisses him off, so yeah.......

Children for the love of god......just stop.

You've been one of the biggest whiners in this thread.

Listen.  Everyone.  Legitimate posters will not be banned.  OK?  Got that?

Whining?  Bringing up legitimate questions about how the reporting system works is whining?
I brought up concerns, BRTD and Libertas are throwing charges of hypocrisy at each other left and right, thus why I say "shut the hell up kids."

Of my 7 moderated posts, I believe the reporters have been the following

3-Xahar
1-StatesRights
1-Al
1-Jamespol

Not sure about #7, though it was a supposed 'personal attack' against Libertas so he is a possibility.

Oh you would be surprised at how easy it is for Libertas to report people.......

Yeah, and I have to wait two months before I get to have any more fun (due to them rules on infraction roll backs).

tell me again what happens at 50 points?  does mod review mean your post has to reviewed by a mod before it shows up?  and mod review only lasts 5 days?  and 100 points means youre banned?

I don't know what any of that crap means Jmfsct, just that "somebody with 49 infraction points shouldn't be throwing stones".  If a mod flat out tells me that, it probably isn't a pleasant thing to go through.

First, there was no violation category invented for Derek.

yeah, but wasnt he banned without actually violating the written TOS, simply because he views were not deemed logical and didnt represent any other known person on earth?

what I am saying is that these nickel and dime infractions dont amount to a hill of beans since getting 100 of them within 90 days is pretty much impossible.  and those who were banned were banned for obvious reasons which had nothing to do with crossing the threshold of 100 points.

i know it seems like I am whining now just because I am a stone's throw away from 50, but once my point total goes down - and it will go down - my argument is going to make a lot more sense - the infraction system is basically irrelevant to every poster, even to most of the ones who were banned (because they didnt reach 100 points), and it needlessly wastes the time of the moderators.

Just thought, as one who likes to occasionally likes to make these moderators work it really isn't that difficult to rack up to 100 points.  Heck Jmfsct most of the 49 points that I currently have were racked up in the last month.  If I were really adventurous (and had a death wish) I could've gone up to 100 points within a month (if not less).  Getting 100 infraction points within 90 days isn't impossible......if you do enough stupid stuff.

Here's what I gander at the average rating of infractions:

1-Moderately inappropriate (mostly the use of homophobic/ethnic slurs)
2 thru 5-Inappropriate/Vulgar language (depends entirely on the moderator who is infracting you)
10-Extremely Inappropriate or just flat out offensive (making a thread where you drop lots of f-bombs, viciously insult a group of people, call for somebody to die in a fire, saying King Kong doesn't have sh*t on you, etc. etc. etc.)

I mean seriously dude, if there is anybody who knows about working the infraction point system it's me.  All somebody would have to do to get to 100 infraction points (they probably would be banned before they reached 100 anyway) would be to make ten posts where they make an extremely hate filled (and I mean that literally) post against different posters or groups of people (even, apparently.....white racists).
So all this really does is separate the blatant trolls from the subtle trolls.....

I think inserting my 'ole copyright images into people's posts was a lot more effective for me than assigning points ever has been, haha.

I like the design! Maybe the text should fade to yellow instead of green though, to match his outfit?

Too late... I had to do each line on it's own, and I don't have the patience to redo all of the text (do you know if there's a way to do multiple lines in one creation in Gimp?)

Also, here's another one I made (yeah, the background's a bid screwed up, but I'm not a pro like Lunar... I'm jealous of his graphic design skills):

But if I drink rum the swearing just gets worse...........

As of me:

Infraction Points:   34

I wasn't infracted in weeks, perhaps because I'm a nice guy now.

Yeah I got another week before my infraction points go down to 34.

Wow! That's a lot dude. I guess most of them must have been for profanity.

Yeah that, and giving the Speech Police a few pieces of my mind on using certain words.
I can say I probably deserved virtually all the points.

Though right now I am at 63-42-39, after appealing to Nym about reducing the ten point infraction I got for quoting you on GPORTER.

As pretty much every poster in that thread pointed out in response to your vile insinuations, you were basically strawmanning my post. First, the poll never asked "do you want to kill all the Jews." Of course Palestinians don't like Jews. Just as I'm sure black slaves didn't like whites. Is their prejudice the best thing in the world? No. But I'm not going to get mad at an oppressed and impoverished people for not loving the people of the state that is oppressing and impoverishing them. Second, your thread presented the poll as if it were some surprising and completely non-understandable fact that 1) Palestinians are none too fond of the Israelis who have been murdering them and stealing their land for the last few decades and 2) 73% of them agree with a quote from the prophet of their religion. It's unfortunate that the Palestinians have come to use the term Jewish and Israeli interchangeably, especially because there are millions of Jews in the world who don't support the anti-democratic, militaristic and apartheid policies of Israel. But let's not stir up all this false moral outrage because uneducated Palestinians living in rubble and surviving off of aid shipments have a confused view of the world.

So yeah, you can boil down my post to a desire to want to commit genocide against the Jews, but in doing so you are lying and misrepresenting my positions in an extremely hyperbolic fashion, and I will continue to report you for that.

The poll asked, quite literally, do you want to kill the Jews (I admit it didn't specify all, but it seemed the natural implication). Your response to that was, "sure, why not."

You can spin that all you want. I'm sure you felt really hip and rebellious, being the rich American leftie hanging out in Europe and dropping that you "totally understand" wanting to kill Jews because those other people are so uneducated. And all that other pseudo-intellectual bs that people like you tell yourself.

But if you voice your warm, unreserved support (without even a hint of what you threw in, that it might be regrettable) for murdering an entire people I'm gonna call you out on it.

Anyway, next time I suggest you explain your support for genocide in the threads where you voice it instead of bringing it to this one. I don't want to clutter up this one anymore.

Lol, Lief's never going to live this down.
That is why children you should always examine the way your posts are worded.  Otherwise some moderator from Sweden is going to give you hell about it for months..........

Am I the only one to be bothered by the idea that Israel is perfectly justified to kill arabs or to have them live in the giant Gaza camp because they're antisemites?

Not at all.
I was just demonstrating how badly misinterpreted one's viewpoint could get if they word their posts wrong.

I'm wondering what Gustaf thought of my posts where I said things like every single Irish-American who gave a penny to the IRA is a terrorist-loving piece of trash with no redeeming value. When I was saying things like that I got a ton of Moderate Hero-esque "Now the IRA were terrorists and it wasn't right to donate to them but it is understandable, blah blah blah" which is not too different from what Lief is saying, and he's not advocating the murder of Jews.

I tend to agree with him by the way. Hamas just like Robert Mugabe's ZANU-PF are obviously both deplorable organizations but it's not surprising that either would rise from oppression. That's kind of Lief's point, not that every single Jew in Israel deserves to be blow up.

I agree completely with this message for the record.

Does anyone know if the infraction points are reduced after a certain while?

All reported posts of mine have been reported by Kallvaid, and all infraction points I received I got from Mikado. Does anyone know where I can raise a complaint?

How do you know who reported your posts?

You apparently know more about how this forum works than I do..........

I have reported one of Mikado's post. In revenge, he has raised the infraction points of one of my posts - unjustifiably reported by the Pole - from 5 to 10.

My score is now 19 points.

Thank you, Mikado!!!
Thank you, Kallvaid!!!

It must not happen that one single moderator gives a ruling on the reputation of one forum member.

19 points?

Come back and brag about it when you have 99 points!

Truly this man, whatever philosophical differences we may have, is a great American!

We would all do well to realize just how much the Jmfsct has sacrificed in his duty to this forum.  God bless you good sir!
