Unfortunately, it seems that whichever candidate is elected to the position of Whip, we will have to address the threat of factionalism being promoted through this office.
I wonder if we might consider making the Deputy Whip an elected position in order to achieve a more balanced and inclusive party effort.

I know I won't leave the party based on the outcome of a Leadership election if that dispels some fears.

Hate to be the party Grammar Nazi, but I believe the correct term is "divisive".
I suggest that further commentary on this "divisive" issue happen via PM or other sort of communication and not in the Convention Thread.

I agree with JBrase and Giovanni, sounds good on paper but I can't vote for it unless there are safeguards against abuses of power.

Ah nay.

Nik's stay in the party might've been suspect, but a week?
I agree with Libertas on this one.

Furthermore, I think for the health of the party we quit talking about how it's "falling apart fast".  Considering the party's success at gaining offices in recent memory that is the wrong attitude we should be having.

Alright, well, with Libertas in and Giovanni out, I'd like to personally request Mechaman make a run for Senate, publicly, and encourage us to support both Libertas and Mechaman.

Umm why?

Alright, I'll do it.
But I can't guarantee I'll be an active campaigner (ie I plan on having a life pretty soon).

It's not my fault that Libertas is the only other candidate who is even remotely close in policy to me.
This is politics Sewer, and no matter how much of a buttface I occasionally think Libertas is he is still closer to my views than everyone else on that list

It's not my fault the ballot sucks so much that Libertas is my second preference.
This is politics Sewer, and no matter how much of an buttface I occasionally think Libertas is he is still (as scary as this sound) closer to my views than everyone else on that list

And here I thought we trying to actually move forward and genuinely improve relations...

Trying to explain things on Sewer's level.  Sorry.

Once more, is this the time for intra-party feuds?

No.
Just said something in the wrong context at the wrong time.
Sorry.
