Peace with honor! Hmm, where did that come from...

Seriously, this is literally the worst move Obama has made since he has become President. He has in a matter of a few months put nearly 9 years of hard-won gains in jeopardy.

Both the military and the Iraqis basically agreed that 20,000 troops were needed to maintain stability. But he and his team bungled the negotiations, undercutting themselves by saying only 3,000 would be kept and then putting the Iraqis on the spot by demanding an upfront vote on troop immunity.

I'm not sure if Obama & co. did this deliberately in order to claim credit for "ending the war", or if he was just incompetent. Sadly, both views are equally plausible.

Hopefully, South Vietnam, er, Iraq will be able to handle itself on its own. If it doesn't... let's just try not to think about that.
