Franklin Delano Roosevelt would be an absolute disaster for the Democratic Party. He could possibly lose in the biggest landslide since James Monroe's victory in 1820. His insane socialist economics would alienate virtually the entire American public—including laborers—who would view it as mindless government intervention in the economy. Giving people benefits for unemployment sounds like it would promote unemployment, and this "New Deal" that FDR is proposing sounds like a proposal to bankrupt the government. Total BS.
The Democratic Party should have picked someone more moderate to win this easily winnable election; they should have chosen a Bourbon Democrat, like Grover Cleveland. These Democrats have shown their effectiveness at winning in general elections. Instead, they threw away an easily winnable election by picking this radical communist Roosevelt. The Democratic Party needs to learn that moderates are the key to success, not fringe leftists.

FDR didn't run as such vs Hoover. He criticized Hoover for spending too much (since Hoover started proto-New Deal Programs) and pledged to cut spending by 25%.
