Press Conference – Trenton, New Jersey
Siege40 for Governor – Moving Forward, Together. Banners everywhere.
Announcer: Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press, I present to you, the Governor of the Northeast, Siege40.
*Polite Cheers – Press must keep their objectivity. Loud cheers and clapping from political supporters.*
*Gov. Siege40 takes the Podium*
Good Evening ladies and gentleman. Today I wish to introduce two more policies for my campaign, and then questions on any issue of the election, alright? Good.
Last week, the state of Louisiana banned gay marriage. About a month before that Missouri banned it. In the past I have presented my views on gay marriage, but it is not my position to force my own believes upon those of the people that I serve. Therefore, within the first month of my second term, I will issue a vote for the residents of the Northeast, on two positions, the ban of gay marriage or the approval of gay marriage. Based on the result, the appropriate amendment will be drafted for the Constitution. That’s the first announcement.
Second, the Region of the Northeast requires a political capital. Also within the first month in my second term I will open an open debate on the appropriate capital, and once narrowed down to 2-5 options, we will hold a vote. That’s the two new platforms.
Alright, let’s here it, questions?
Press: Ingram DeWitt, New York Times, Mr. Governor, what is your response to rumours that you are a homosexual?
S40: Um… wrong Governor?
*Laughter*
S40: On a more serious note, no, I am not. However, it is my believe that we should allow gay marriage and extend the same rights, liberties and freedoms to homosexuals as to heterosexuals, that’s my view, but I don’t think it is my right to impose it, so that’s what the vote is for. Next question, yes you with the beard.
Press: Walter Mathews, Boston Herald, Mr. Governor, you often claim that you are not a partisan, but some of your base in the United Left, and other far left parties have claimed that you are a centrist, how do you answer this?
S40: Wow, tough. I haven’t heard these complaints myself. However, since you brought it up… Would you, or rather these people, rather that I alienate as much as 49% of the population? Elections can be won with 50% + 1, does that mean 50% - 1 should be ignored? I could rule like a partisan for 4 months, institute radical socialist policy, or I could make reasonable middle ground, mostly center-left policies that better serve everyone, and not just those that elected me? I plan to serve the majority, or as many people as possible. Next question, please?
Press: Neil O. Khanh, Fox News (get the joke?) Mr. Governor, is it true that you enjoy drinking the blood of children?
*Boos*
S40: No… I’m glad we keep politics civilized… Last question, yes, you.
Press: Karl Ludwing, internet Blogger, where are your next campaign stops and when?
S40: I’m moving on to Newark, New Jersey on Wednesday, to talk about my policy on crime. Thursday, I'm going through Pennsylvania and New York. Friday I’m in CT, MA, and RI to give local stump speeches. And on Saturday I’m back in Maine to vote, after dropping into New Hampshire and Vermont. Thank you. Other questions?
