Several members in good standing (and some less so) revealed themselves as white supremacists in this disastrous thread. Unfortunately Naso's original post seems to have been deleted.

Unabashed white nationalism -

Can't we just go back to the good old days when the population was 85 percent white

Regurgitation of common myths -

Far-right gibberish -

I'm wondering what advantage people like to see in a country that would have multiple languages spoken and accepted in it.

Diversity is good?
Ah, yes, "diversity," the magic word. I'd encourage you to look at Sweden to see how "diversity" lives up. As prosperous as it is in many fields, it has the highest rape rate in Europe, and more than half of those incidents are committed by Muslim immigrants.

And, of course, the worst -

Yeah, this is sadly a fact. Some of it stems from the nature of Islam in regards to treatment of women, but I'd suspect that much like higher crime rates among minorities and poor whites, much of it stems from poverty, unemployment, underemployment, etc.

Atlas Forum: Uniting people of supposedly wildly divergent political ideologies in fear and hatred of the TERROR STATE WITHIN.

swpl affecting a pseudo-marxist viewpoint is annoying (no offense lief) but somehow the serious people TM manage to be more annoying when discussing people like chavez.

I barely understand this post (swpl?) but I think I get what you mean. I don't see anything wrong with the Chavez post, which seems like a fairly accurate description of the state of Venezuela under strongman government as far as I know.

Regarding point B) There are certain establishment beliefs this forum has. Among them is in the legalization of marijuana. When a Democrat of all people opposes it, the jackals that make up this forum's commentators will pounce.

...or the fact that Adam's post is moronic, absurd, ignorant and bad.

Ohio's on the wrong side of history and if our Republican majority needs to do anything to protect this state, it's preventing marijuana from ever making the ballot in Ohio since the voters can't be trusted. It's no coincidence that voters 18-29 overwhelmingly support it and would just abuse the drug if they ever got the opportunity to use it.

Deranged Reefer Madness handwringing ahoy!

No. What does this even mean?

His other posts are telling in that they show about as much awareness of anything approaching fact as Bushie's hilarious "I have seen cannabis destroy lives" post a few weeks back.

Besides being very uncomfortable in a hypothetical overdosed driver behind the wheel or never before knowing the addictive feeling from the drug

"Overdosed", "addictive feeling". Do I spot someone who's never tried marijuana in their life?

Yeah f*** people with chronic pain and other ailments that medical marijuana can generally alleviate. Thank God it's (according to Adam) unlikely that Ohio voters will deign to improve these degenerate junkie's quality of life. This is just a disgusting post. At least with the Atlas posters who oppose euthanasia I can arguably see the conundrum since it's at least a matter of life and death. With this you're literally applauding depriving people of treatment for painful symptoms. God bless Ohio!

...

...I take back what I said earlier re: you never having tried marijuana. Have you ever met anyone who has? Or, I don't know, even seen a depiction of marijuana use on television or something? It's utterly amazing to me how someone can be so wilfully ignorant of the effects of such a common substance.

...and we get to the heart of the matter. The bafflingly persistent myth of the "gateway drug". This idea doesn't even support the cause of the anti-drug brigade since it's so obviously vile nonsense and reduces the credibility of any "serious" anti-drug messaging.

In 2013, 22% of 12th grade students had used marijuana in the past month. What kind of heroin usage level do you think's going to result out of such a figure? 15% of 12th graders? 10%? I assume you're intelligent enough to see how ludicrous the gateway nonsense is.

There's a disturbing tendency among some "liberals" here (and clearly I use that word loosely) to want to Help Society™, regardless of the actual impact on individuals. Someone posted recently that they approve of Helping™ people against their will. That idea's horrifying to me, and I can't imagine I'm the only one. We can see the same logic in this clown car of a post. A basic axiom's that people should generally be allowed a certain level of freedom that doesn't impact on other people. However, to Help Society™ it's apparently perfectly acceptable to restrict individual freedoms based on fuzzy logic, wishful thinking, scaremongering and paranoia because you can conceivably draw a vague link between legalising marijuana and plunging the nation into anarchy or whatever. As long as Mommy State is happy, all of us held close to her bosom, everyone will be doing just fine, playing their own little part in the great machinery of social democracy. Smiley

It has become clear that the nanny state must be smashed at all costs and its supporters dragged through the streets by their own high horses.

I recently started this. I almost returned it when the author used the N word like five times in the first chapter. He hasn't used it for a while so I'm enjoying it, but this book made a very bad first impression.

Yes, 50,000 Americans died and some 2 million+ Vietnamese died in that war, but

Continuing in the lengthy Atlas tradition of "Yes, [utterly horrible, career-defining thing, but]..."

The Obamanation confirms himself as the forum's most obnoxious waste of oxygen with what is either a disastrously failed attempt at "humour" or particularly vile Nazi filth -

It's true, a scientific argument for pro-life is growing. Personally I'm mixed on the subject. I'm sure most people who get abortions are sluts that don't want to/can't handle children and want to keep sleeping around. That's not right.

Crimea is for all intents and purposes Russian and the 1954 transfer to the Ukrainian SSR was a mistake, though I disapprove of how Russia pursued this annexation.

I wonder how many No voters support Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence. It seems that self-determination only matters when you support the group which wants it.

It's really time for you to show some respect and shut up with your trolling. It was never smart nor funny, but at the point where we are now and people are beginning to die you should really take a step back.

I understand that this is remote for most of you American teenagers but I have friends from the Ukraine crying themselves to sleep with worry for their families. Whiny bitching about irrelevant analogies only serves to make you look dumber.

And I know people whose lives were nearly destroyed by US imperialist ventures, so...

Given that this is actually true as I explained later in the thread I fail to see how this is absurd.

"US imperialist ventures"

True Leftists are nothing but bands of thugs and killers. They're proving that now with parroting the propaganda of fellow thug and killer Putin.

It's a bit hyperbolic (but that's BRTD for you) but it's certainly true that the Trotley Crue have been happily eating up fascist propaganda on the basis of it being NOT WE$TERN MEDIA!!!! or whatever.

Judges are not there to express the will of the people, legislatures are.

Then why have legislatures done such a terrible job of it?

it's all total nonsense.  my hunch is that baby Boomer liberals have this psychological need to see society progress to these previously unknown heights of tolerance, and by allowing a few thousand gay couples in each state marry they actually think they're making a Rosa Parks-esque imprint on society.

not a few liberals compared Edie Windsor directly to Parks.  keep in mind Windsor's case only reached the SCOTUS because she had to pay a $363k tax as a result of her partner dying!  Rosa Parks wouldn't have known which real estate agents to hire if she had $363k in 1955 dollars.  my father, himself a baby boomer Jewish liberal, said something to me like "your generation will take it for granted, but gay marriage is revolutionizing society in a way you probably can't understand".  I just glared at him, as I usually do when discussing any topic this side of minor-conference college basketball.

the end result of this is that gays are joining the post-WW2 Jews as the most privileged group in world history: not disadvantaged at all by any demonstrable economic statistic, yet enjoying multiple "extra" protections under the law.

I don't see what's particularly absurd about that. The bolded part is a bit excessive but there's a grain of truth to the post.

2016 and 2020 are locks for Hillary, while 2024 and 2028 for whoever is her VP, because of her popularity that, as we all know, is set in stone.

The GOP might as well dissolve now.

Typical 2016 board post.

You're really entering this into the Deluge?
