dude, if someone as unpolished and carrying as much baggage as McDonnell is only trailing by 11-15 points, Thune or Pence would be leading. The Dems love McDonnell because her baggage distracts voters from Dem policy failures, failures Thune and Pence would be pouncing on.
You do realize, don't you, that many of this year's GOP candidates are deeply flawed, yet the Senate is still up for grabs?
The Republicans had a winning candidate and they threw him overboard in the primary. People like Thune and Pence are too conservative to win a seat like this.
Being "too conservative" is not really the issue with O'Donnell.
