Probably not. Vermont and Georgia have grown further and further apart with time.

It would have to be as part of a massive landslide in my opinion. It's much more likely that Georgia just flips to the Dems based on recent results. It was pretty close in 2008.

Vermont swinging to the GOP in the near future is highly unlikely unless the Republicans really transform their image.

But Vermont is still very much ideological rather than partisan (unlike, say, Massachusetts), so it could still vote Republican again if the conditions are just right. Obviously nominating a Southern evangelical or neocon just won't do it.
