I should state now for the record (as I believe I did during the campaign, though I could be mistaken) that while I find this and other Atlasian publications thoroughly amusing to read, I do not condone or endorse any of the comments found within. The views here are expressly those of Marokai and it is well within his right to rant what he may.

As I have tried to hammer in time after time, I am not concerned in the least bit with ideology over the next 4 months. My singular goal, as I stated in the campaign, will be to improve this game in a lasting and meaningful way. This means clarifying the system, streamlining and consolidating the Constitution and statutes, ensuring that the Wiki is and continues to be a solid core for the game, and building up the legitimacy of the executive branch.

By the end of my administration, I no longer want people to ask why the SoIA exists or what the Atlasian tax system looks like or when the next election is. Once I am done, you can all return to the fierce ideological debates you know and love, comforted by the knowledge that the game works better than it ever did before.

Is that clear enough for everyone?

Thank you, though for the sake of your own administration's respectable image, I suggest reining in your vice president's tendency to hurl vitriolic tirades against people he disagrees with. The election is over, there's no need for an attack dog running mate a la Serra Paylin. Writing hit pieces in tabloids is not proper vice presidential conduct.

I couldn't even rein in Marokai when I was his enemy... Tongue

I knew the risk when I chose the personalities that I did for many positions in the executive branch. At the end of the day, I care less about personality and more about competence. I can pretty easily clean up a stupid mistake if a member of my Cabinet says something insulting or does something outrageous, but I cannot complete my hefty agenda without the most competent people.

This is an internet sim and players are bound to play characters or write things they would never say aloud, but I firmly believe we can still move past personalities, just for a few months, and effect real and positive change that will make this game better over the long-term.

Yes, well it's a bit hard to take seriously the notion that your administration is interested in working fairly with me (and my party), when your No. 2 is constantly belittling us and making attack posts like the one found in this newsletter. His personality is hitherto what has prevented me from seeing us as allies working toward common goals of reform rather than as enemies. He does represent the Purple State administration, does he not?

I would say it depends on the context. I certainly don't pre-approve everything the guy posts (I don't have enough time in my day to read half of what he posts Tongue).

If you ever feel like you are being unfairly maligned by Marokai, shoot me a PM and I'll look at it. To be sure, I used to feel that way too. And you will reach a point, just as we all do, at which you realize that some things are just not worth the fight. You can succumb to the pressure and lash out, or you can persevere, outlast and push through. I made my choice and I am much happier and better off for it.

Just remember, this is an internet game. Don't take it personally or it will consume you in a way that isn't healthy.

Very well then, don't act surprised if I take you up on this offer.

Hopefully Marokai won't be obliged to provide me with further occasion to do so, of course. Wink

Haha, how stupid do you think you readers are? Sewer Socialist is not and never has been a JCP insider nor does he have a red avatar nor is he a personal ally of yours. Tony is all of those things, as well as a loyal partisan hack and social democrat.

I have no clue how the case against Antonio V even materialized. As I understand it, he only changed the color of the Populares on their wiki page. Unless he was changing it to puke or something, it doesn't seem like something that would damage them in the least.

Last time I checked, criminal cases generally do not get prosecuted unless harm or the potential for harm exists. Not to mention this case specifically requires malice. According to the Fourth Edition of the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, malice refers to:

Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

Note in particular the second definition. As far as I know, Atlasian law uses the same definition of malice as American law does. How changing the Populares's color to a slightly different shade of green could possibly be a wrongful act that would result in their harm is as of yet unclear to me.

Vandalizing the Wiki page of an opposing party 13 times over a four month period, after being repeatedly asked to stop, is inherently malicious.

But it's okay, since the precedent has been set, I guess I'll be deciding what's best for the JCP's Wiki article from now on.

How did his actions cause your party harm?

Uh, vandalizing our party page to contain incorrect information? Forcing me to constantly sign on to the AtlasWiki having to undo his vandalism in a Wiki edit war lasting over four months? How is this okay with you?

One hell of a can of worms has been opened up with this ruling.
