Undoubtedly shooting for A-G. A fools' errand IMHO as Richard Cordray is quite popular and won a landslide in the special election last year (albeit against a little known opponent). It's almost a shame he was elected A-G so recently otherwise he'd be a great candidate for Voinivich's seat. Cordray would have to screw up massively and very publicly for voters to change their minds so quickly in favor of an ex-senator we resoundingly booted out three years ago.

Then again, I would've said only a couple months ago that Kasich's run against Strickland was downright quixotic. Maybe DeWine is banking on a wave election to sweep him in as a last chance for political comeback?

Wonder if he'd be better off running for Brunner's open seat for Sec. of State? Open seat for a less visible office where name recognition could make the difference. He wouldn't need the additional name recognition from being AG, so any statewide office like this would suffice as a springboard for future races like Gov in '14 or state supreme court.

It's official today. He's running for A-G.

As I said before, short of a near 1994 level wave, he'll lose to Cordray.

Yeah, I don't care.

edit:

actually, the guy DeWine is running against is kind of dreamy

Just looked it up and he's 50 (?!?) Cordray was a great Franklin County Treasurer then equally good State Treasurer before moving up to A-G this year. PLUS he's a five time undefeated champion on Jeopardy. He joked when speaking to our county Democratic dinner, guess which accomplishment he's best known for.

Definitely watch him. I'd lay 5-1 he's a near-future governor or senator.
