Ambassadorships are regularly positions for career politicians in political donors oh, sure. But even by those standards pulling the nomination of a career Diplomat in favor of a former congressman who is UNDER ACTIVE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION is, well, typically Trumpian.

Scott Taylor has not been charged with any crimes, although members of his campaign staff have.  Nor is it clear that he is a subject of the investigation.

Oh, obviously squeaky-clean then. Best to get rid of a career Diplomat for this sensitive post then.

I didn't say I endorsed the choice.  I'm not opposed to the idea of a President appointing his own people, however.  And no Atlas Left poster would be complaining if Obama did something comparable.

I knew you would say that and for the record you are wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. I for one would be rolling her eyes at least at Obama making such a dunderheaded and sleazy looking political move. If, repeat if his administration felt the need 2 provide employment for a party stalwart one-termer despite the criminal investigation into their campaign, then get them some Backwater low-level enough Federal bureaucracy job not needing confirmation. And you know what else, most red avatars here would agree.

But you see, we are so desensitized to Trump that some of us, ahem, I forgotten that both sides really aren't the same.
