In a more serious answer than my prior one above, Kansas is known for being perhaps the last holdout of truly moderate Republicans who actually do something when faced with an abhorrent right-wing extremist seeking to leave their state government. We see this from the number of Republican office holders, current and former, who endorsed Kelly over kobach. It's something that has occurred in previous Governors elections as well.

I would say I have to move to Kansas, but I'm done trying to even be a Republican supporting local candidates. I voted for a pragmatic but still staunchly Republican guy for County Commissioner who might stumped for and contributed money towards. Otherwise I voted straight Democratic in all contested races.
