I think Kalwejt would do a great job if he was interested.
Question is, and must be asked, should the one who returned just recently instantly become a member of leadership?
I think I should win your trust again first.
That's kind, but you've got mine already.
Well, one has to be a member of the party for 30 days first according to the bylaws, so that is probably the main issue.
We could always just abolish the office of Secretary if nobody wants to do it, lol.
I feel like I
should step up and run for one of the party offices, but the GM's role has my hands more than full so it would probably be a bad idea.
I suggested the role of Secretary for the duties of organizing convention agendas with the Chair, PMing invitations to JCP voters to come to the convention, and maybe eventually producing a monthly "mini-newsletter" (e.g. interview of JCP member of the month, summary of good things the party passed, elections won, stupid things said/passed by right wingers
) to be sent directly to JCP members. A tad ambitious there I admit.
Plus helping out the Whip when his hands were full (and vice-versa). And also whatever else the Secretary got a wild hair to add to their job description.
I'd like to see it continue if possible, but if there are no candidates....
I'm perfectly OK with Kal being Secretary as bgwah has suggested. If party rules forbid it right now and no one else wants to step up in the meantime, I'm equally OK with nominating Kal to take the job starting his first day of eligibility under the bylaws, even if that's after the convention ends.
