He's been aiming for one, apparently, ever since Bennett was defeated. Hatch claims that Chaffetz "promised he wouldn't run," but Chaffetz has insisted that he made no such deal.

If Chaffetz said that, he's clearly gearing up for a run.

None, at least as far as I can tell. I doubt Utah Republicans will actually be that open to voting for him again, on that note, given he's been in the Obama administration for a fair while now(albeit as just an ambassador).

Either way. The Tea Party may not be targeting it, but Chaffetz is, and given Hatch's positions on...well...freedom, I can't really complain.

Forgive me, but I'm not seeing the relevance. My point was that the seat is Chaffetz's target, whether the Tea Party wants it or not. Pretty much always has been.

Agreed, but my point is the tea party might target it after all thus compounding Hatch's woes.
