Certain suburban Republicans around the country who would have supported Reagan instead of Nixon in 68 despite Reagan being too moderate for their liking.

These types of voters were likely ethnic whites in places like Staten Island, where this type of vote was common, however segregation was not supported as integration had already been established policy in New York.

You really think Staten Island whites who were Goldwater 64/Wallace 68 voters were supportive of integration? In THEIR communities?!
