Arguably, seven candidates from the "Sun Belt" (from Southern California, Texas, Arkansas, and Georgia) were elected President in 12 elections from 1964 to 2004. Obama was the first elected President (excluding Ford, who was never elected) since Kennedy who didn't make his political career in the American South, Southwest, or Southern California.

When do you think the next President from the "Sun Belt" will be elected? I don't think Hillary counts, since she made most of her political career in New York and (arguably) Washington, D.C.
