Can we please stop with this f**king "economic anxiety" meme already? Does anyone here actually have any clue how political identity formation works and that there's anything else relevant to one's politics beyond how woke you are?

I don't give a sh*t if you're upset at the prevalent racism. You're still being a pompous, ignorant, stereotyping cretin and it needs to stop.

To prevent this from getting sidetracked into a discussion of the "economic anxiety" meme (which tbh I only used in an attempt to be clever), I've updated the thread title to just reflect the facts of the case.

Thank you.

That person is obviously vile and belongs in jail.

Not to shock anybody, but white racists did exist before 2016 and have been voting overwhelmingly Republican since at least 1972. There seems to be this myth that Trump galvanized all these white racists into voting R, but I’m pretty sure these people would’ve been voting for anyone with the R next to their name. The fact is that your newfound heroes John McCain and Mitt Romney won white racists as well, but that seems to be okay with you because they lost their elections.

The difference is that McCain and Romney didn't appeal to them in order to win.

They did. They were just more subtle about doing it. But yeah, pandering to racists is a proud Republican tradition since 1964.
