I had sex when I was 16, with another 16 year old when the age of consent was still 18. If you want to feign outrage go ahead. It happens. I don't feel the need to police the sex lives of teenagers.

The point is that "it happens" is a terrible argument for claiming that anything is morally justified, regardless of what particular thing you're trying to justify. Bad things happen. If they didn't, we wouldn't need morality.

Abortion: Something I find myself very conflicted about. On the one hand, the little fetus isn't doing anything wrong. But then again if it's early then it's just a collection of unthinking cells. But also it has the potential to become a great human being. But that is less likely if they are unwanted from the beginning. What tips the scale for me, is that if abortion is banned, women will resort to illegal abortions which is a dangerous health hazard. Protecting the lives of alive women is more important than protecting the chance that a group of cells might turn into a great person. There's too many people in the world anyway. Also, in some cases, I would go so far to favor that abortion should be required in situations of severe birth defects or disabilities. People may deny it, but everyone who wants a child most importantly wants them to be healthy and not a useless tumor.
