A Proclaim

As peace seems closer than ever and the quest for an independent North has effectively become a reality, it is high time to provide our Kingdom with a permanent administration to lead it through a variety of questions that need to be settled. Therefore, I do hereby appoint a Small Council and a number of Wardens to protect the Kingdom, as follows:

Hand of the King: Lord Greatjon Umber
Master of Laws: Lord Rickard Karstark
Master of Coin: Lord Roose Bolton - acting for Lord Petyr Baelish
Master of Whispers: Lord Roose Bolton
Master of Ships: Lord Wyman Manderly

Warden of the North (Karhold, Last Hearth): Lord Rickard Karstark
Warden of the East (The Dreadfort, Ramsgate, Widow's Watch): Lord Roose Bolton
Warden of the Centre (Winterfell): Prince Brandon Stark
Warden of the West (Bear Island, Deepwood Motte, Torrhen's Square): Lady Maege Mormont
Warden of the South (White Harbor, Oldcastle, The Neck): Lord Rodrik Ryswell

Proclaim of the Allied Kings

We, the rightful sovereigns of Westeros, in Order to establish lasting Peace throughout the continent, restore Law and Justice, provide for the common defence, and promote the General Welfare of our Realms, do hereby agree to join our forces and wisdom in a Commonwealth of the Free Kingdoms, whose setting principles shall be laid out in the following Charter.

Section I - Scope and Extent of the Commonwealth

Article 1 The Commonwealth shall be formed by the North, Riverlands, Vale, Dorne, Westerlands, Stormlands, Dragonlands (formerly known as Crownlands), and all other realms of Westeros which shall wish to join it at any time.

Article 2 The Purpose of this Commonwealth shall be to organize and maintain stable and peaceful relations between separate realms, or to deal with matters involving the common safety of all. This document shall in no way be construed to deny each of the aforementioned realms their absolute freedom and independence in resolving internal matters.

Article 3 Each realm must provide one twentieth (1/20) of their soldiers to form a Commonwealth Army. Said Army may only be used to fight a foreign force, and may not, under any circumstance, be directed against a member of the Commonwealth.

Article 5 The Commonwealth shall negotiate with foreign entities in the name of all its members on military and commercial matters that involve the interests of several realms. Single realms may still conduct separate negotiations with foreign entities, as long as those do not contradict the entanglements contracted by the Commonwealth as a whole.

Article 6 The Commonwealth shall settle any disputes arising between two or more realms in matters of trade or justice, which could not be resolved through direct negotiations. If petitioned by one of its members to act as a mediator in such dispute, the Commonwealth shall have the power to set appropriate trade barriers, and to order a realm to return an individual which is facing trial in another realm.

Article 7 A common currency shall be minted in all member realms. The individual realms shall remain responsible for its minting. However, if disputes shall arise between realms regarding the amount of coins produced by each, the Commonwealth may be petitioned under Article 6 to set reasonable minting limits.

Article 8 In the case that one member of the Commonwealth failed to honor the obligations subscribed under this document, the Commonwealth may call upon other realms to ensure, though military means if necessary, that the agreement is respected.

Section II - Structure of the Commonwealth

Article 9 All power recognized to the Commonwealth under this document shall be vested into a Lord Protector of the Commonwealth and into a High Council. The Lord Protector shall initiate all decisions, which may then be ratified or rejected by the High Council.

Article 10 The office of Lord Protector of the Commonwealth shall befall upon Daemon Blackfyre, and to his rightful heirs as identified under the common laws of succession. The Lord Protector shall rule as King of the Dragonlands.

Article 11 The High Council shall be formed by one member appointed by each of the rightful sovereigns of the realms that form the Commonwealth (including the Dragonlands). A High Councilor may at any time be removed from office by the sovereign who appointed them, and replaced by another.

Article 12 The High Council shall deliberate and vote on any Commonwealth action taken by the Lord Protector, with the exception specified under Article 13. A Commonwealth action shall become effective if and only if more than half of the High Councillors vote to ratify it. High Councilors must keep their deliberations secret to anyone aside from the respective sovereign who appointed them, to whom they must provide a complete and truthful account of their actions.

Article 13 If, upon request of the Lord Protector, at least two thirds of the High Councilors vote to acknowledge a state of war against a foreign entity, the Lord Protector shall assume full command of the Commonwealth Army in its struggle against said force. The High Council may, at any time, by a vote of two thirds of its members, revoke a declaration of war.

Article 14 The terms of this Charter may at any time be subject to revision if, upon request of the Lord Protector, more than three quarters of the High Councilors shall consent to the revision.

Appendix - Financial organization

The Seven Kingdoms being hereby dissolved, the now independent realms that once composed it shall assume full faith and credit for debts contracted by its Crown. Each of the formerly united Kingdom shall take up a share of this burden, to be determined in due course after the war's end, which shall be proportional to a realm's wealth and economic resources.

The Commonwealth Administration hereby established shall not contract any debt, nor levy any amount of money from its constituent realms, whether directly or indirectly. Each realm shall be responsible to provide for the expenses of its respective High Councillor, and the Dragonlands shall be responsible to provide for all additional expenses.

Since there are no more opinions for the time being (although I really like SJoyce's suggestions), I'll start preparing the update and turn Eight without an others invasion, which means the end is near. Best of luck to survive the End Game, gentlemen, because people will keep on dying!

Somehow I feel targeted by this statement... Cry

The North has no part in Prince Doran's murder, just as it had no part in the late Lord Tywin's murder. Prince Doran was a good man and a personal friend of mine, and I came to Dorne to seal our friendship with this sacred union. The Northmen and Dornishmen are both honorable peoples, who reject the treachery and corruption that reigns in central Westeros. By the Old Gods and by Mother Rhoyne, I swear that House Stark shall remain a faithful ally to House Martell.

A Proclaim

Lord Bolton and Lord Manderly shall immediately cease all fighting, retreat to their respective castles, and await my return. Once I arrive, they shall be escorted to Winterfell to stand for trial before me, so as to determine which of the two is truly a traitor. In the meantime, any further hostility against one of those two Lords shall be considered as an act of treason against myself.

So I guess I have earned my little victory speech / badass boast. Wink

"Northmen! Through two long years, we have suffered the hardships of war, cold and misery. When we rose up to avenge my father, to proclaim our sovereignty to the Continent, southerners laughed at us. They who knew nothing but the luxuries of summer, they ridiculed our memories of the Long Night. They who spent their days devising elaborate conspiracies against each other, they despised us for our honesty and our love of justice. But today, they laugh no more. Today, every single person in Westeros knows the price to be paid for insulting the North. As winter was about to start we all left our homes for the battlefield. We had little money, little training, and mediocre weapons, but we derived our strength from our courage and the assurance that our struggle was a rightful one. Facing shrewd, treacherous enemies, we proudly harbored our honesty as a banner. May our triumph prove for the generations to come that those who fight with honor for a just cause can, and will, prevail over the ruthless forces of greed. The North now stands tall, as a free and independent kingdom, and shall cooperate with the other realms of Westeros to preserve peace and ensure domestic tranquility under Lord Daemon's guidance. We look forward to partaking in this never-ending task, as respected equals. And although my family and I will always mourn the loss of the great Eddard Stark, we Northmen now can be sure that he did not die in vain."

While the rest of the players choose who will go to King's Landing and/or prepare the last statements, I have started to write the ending. To make up for those times in which the turns were delayed I plan to make a detailed ending with a couple of POV and a brief resume of the war as written by a maester (I'm tempted to have Samwell Tarly as the writer) twenty years into the future. I'll wait for one or two more days to see who the envoys will be (as we will have a POV of the High Council) and in the meantime I will prepare the ending.

This sounds awesome! Cheesy

BTW, Mr. X and I are working on an additional scene portraying the trial, with a slight alteration. We're not changing the outcome, but Roose wants to ask for a trial by combat in the end, so it turns out I killed him in the fight rather than in the usual execution ceremony. Still the practical consequences would be the same. Would that work?

Excellent, Cranberry, First Minister does sound a bit strange, but it would fit nicely if Westeros were to enter the Renaissance (and I think it will considering how the Ending is coming).

So far I have six or seven pages (in Word) with the abridged version of "The War of the Ten Kings", by Archmaester Samwell Tarly. I will add the finishing touches and write the remaining POV's (Oberyn Martell or Tyrion Lannister in King's Landing, Catelyn Stark in Winterfell and Asha Greyjoy in Astapor, with Jon Snow or Bran as an option) and I will post the endgame between Friday and Sunday depending on how long it takes.

Any requests?

Can't wait for all this great stuff! Cheesy

And please go ahead with the Bran/Jon POV! The more northern narration I get, the happier I am. Wink

Truly amazing job Lumine, I had a lot of fun playing this game throughout the summer and you gave it an ending that was really worthy of the passion you and us players put into this game throughout its length. Thanks a lot for your dedication, and if you ever find the time to moderate a new game (though I'd say you should wait a bit, maybe until December or so) I'll definitely consider playing again!

As a final note from Robb Stark, I should make it clear that the North will resist any attempt to impose a foreign faith over our ancestral tradition. The Northmen will remain faithful to the Old Gods, who have guided them through the millennia of their glorious, independent history.

BTW, do I win any cookie for being the only player to stay alive throughout the game? Tongue

I second wanting to hear more about what you thought about how everyone did. I also want to find out what Varys was doing the whole time that you kept raving about in the turn summaries Tongue

Mostly trying to hide himself and Sansa from Littlefinger, I guess? Tongue

Antonio/Robb: Needless to say, Antonio was the second player who surprised me the most. Since he hadn't seen Seasons 3 and 4 when the Game started I figured he would eventually die along with most of the Starks, and I was completely proven wrong. I still think he made a critical mistake by forgiving Roose that almost costed him his life (and Theon would have been another critical mistake had the dice determined his survival), but Antonio adapted quickly, worked hard and always tried to find the best solutions to the dilemmas of his House, even when that costed him support. And he was one of the players with the less amount of assassination orders, something I really appreciated... Until he moved to have his own aunt murdered by plotting with Littlefinger of all people, xD

Well thanks, that's a pretty nice summary. Smiley I certainly made a good deal of mistakes, and frankly, I'm not even sure how I survived all through the game while everyone else was dying like flies. Tongue

It's worth pointing out that, within the first week or so of the game, I had finished watching the show. So yeah, I knew what fate might have awaited Robb if he screwed up. Wink

Basically, my philosophy of play could be summarized as "don't f**k with me and I won't f**k with you". So I didn't enact many plots, but the few I've successfully carried out (two, that is: Lysa's "downfall" and Roose's "trial") were for very good reason. Evil I think this helped me gain the trust of several key players (even though I was framed for basically everyone else's plots! Tongue).

Mr. X/Tywin/Roose: Not only he was excellent as Tywin in terms of roleplaying (seriously, his comments against Tyrion were amusing), Mr. X was the ultimate plotter. Turn after turn he would come up with ingenious ideas and potential loopholes, and while he did abuse the assassins and the faceless men potential requests he made most of the intrigue of the game possible, thus being an integral part of the game. Sadly, he was often struck by bad luck on the dice rolls (to ridiculous levels, forcing me to throw them again just to see what happened), and while he performed admirable as Roose given the circumstances it was Tywin where he truly excelled. If a couple of battles or plots had gone his way, Renly would have been skinned alive and he would have probably lived until the ending.

OMG, did Tywin really sacrifice Jaime in order to kill of Mace? Shocked Isn't that a bit OOC, considering how badly he wanted Jaime to succeed him, and considering that without him Tyrion was the only remaining heir? Did you really let that happen, Lumine? Grin Also, was Roose trying to have me killed too? I've never managed to clear that up. Tongue And who the hell killed Tywin?

I considered it OOC for a moment, but when Jaime was captured in AGOT Tywin pretty much considering him as dead, hence why Tyrion was made acting hand. He probably believed the Starks would never release him and he probably needed Mace dead to disengage the Reach, so yes, I accepted, xD

LOL, actually by that point I had secured a deal with him that effectively ensured Jaime would be released after the war was over. Seems like that little bastard fooled you too! Wink

Cranberry, it's LF that got you murdered, but he did so on Bolton's orders (because by that point Bolton had enacted a plot that made LF his puppet... more or less).

Oh yes, there was this thing with the Faceless Men, that LF would die if Bolton died, right?
But I still don't get why? Just for plain fun? Tongue

I guess Bolton thought he could use that to blackmail LF, but it backfired a bit when LF decided he didn't want to be a tool and handed me evidence of Bolton's plans. Wink

Fun little fact: when the game began my PM inbox had 103 pages of PMs, accumulated over five years and half. Now, it has 140. Tongue So yeah, you can tell that was rather intense! Cheesy

Anyway, X is right, time to release the Great Tywin-Robb Ravens:

The Lannisters were down to half an army and X!Tywin was less trustworthy than book!Littlefinger, so I couldn't side with them, the Starks had nothing to offer except a (politically worthless) marriage to Sansa and Renly never communicated with me whatsoever.

I could have offered you the Vale's independence - as I eventually did after Royce too over. In fact, I was planning to tell you about that possibility right after we crushed the Tyrells. I really thought we had too many interests in common to fight each other, but meh, I guess you taught me a good lesson. Wink

Also, my favorite moment in the entire game was getting my revenge against you. I was genuinely ecstatic when I read the POV with LF sending you fly. Cheesy
