Are there any religions out there that DON'T find something wrong with homosexuals?  If not, then none can be considered liberal.

Neo-Paganism is one -though it is not so much a religion but, like Christianity, is an umbrella term for numerous sects within.

Unitarian Universalism is another.

These are the only two that I am aware of that openly embraces homosexuals as equals.

Would it be OK if a thief who stole out of the church plate every week be allowed to stay in that church and not reprimanded? Theft and homosexuality are both considered sins in the Christian doctrine. Why the double standards? Even Jesus would have called so called "preachers" out on that one.

Most of them actually. Most also have a problem with homosexual sex though.

In my mind, they are one and the same. I don't ask that they engage it necessarily, but do not damn anybody who does engage in it to hell or other pleasent holiday spots.

If that's the conclusion of the religion based on the religious text then what is their to disagree with? Seriously.

The book of Romans is believed to have been written by Paul. Paul said a lot of things that were anti-woman also.

Doesn't matter who wrote it. It was still inspired by God.

I wouldn't expect an atheist like you to understand that. Because of course you liberals "always know what's right for us".

btw Catholics and Protestants don't even have the same Bible, so which one is 'inspired by God'?

The so called 'authority' of the Bible historically came from the Catholic Church. If this authority is not open to debate why do Protestants reject the Catholic Bible?

Most Catholics and Protestants use the King James Version of the bible. Pretty much the best one of the ones out there. Any respectable person won't use that New American nonsense.

...as part of one of his [Paul's] general rants about sexual immorality. Most of what he said on that subject is ignored by most churches (not to say that should be the case, but to say that some consistency on this subject would be helpful) even the ones he was writing to.
He seems to have based his views on sexulity on Leviticus, btw.

No part of the bible should really be 'ignored' per se, as it is all relevant to Christianity. Of course the Old Testament rules don't apply to Christians as they were "nailed to the cross" but to get the whole picture of what the bible means you must take into account every aspect of the writing.
