I'm not saying he made a critical error, I'm just wondering what is logic was.  He campaigned in places like West Virginia and Missouri a few times which also leaned Bush.

He was smart in sticking with the states that could ACTUALLY go his way. But if Bush had been down 5-6 it probably would have been a good idea.
