This probably doesn't count as a 'movie', but I watched the BBC documentary series Walking With Dinosaurs. Very well done.

Casino Royale. The 2006 version, that is. Pretty good.

The Butterfly Effect. Very strange but quite enjoyable.

The Basketball Diaries. From the early days of DiCaprio's career.

Moon

2001: For people who only have 90 minutes to spare.  It was decent.

The Good Son. Pretty disturbing. I pretty much agree with Roger Ebert's take on this.

Nixon, starring Anthony Hopkins. I don't how much of the plot Stone exaggerated, but it was still a wonderful film and Hopkins was the perfect man to play Richard Nixon.

He uses the "Old Nixon Charm". Wink

The Butterfly Effect 2. Not as good as the first one.

Analyse This and Escape from Alcatraz. Two very different movies, but I think the latter was superior.

And 8.3 on IMDB. And 76 on Metacritic.

Analyze That. Not as good as Analyze This.

12 Angry Men (1997). Not as good as the 1957 version, but still very good.

Ocean's Twelve. Not bad for a sequel, but it was kind of incoherent, especially in the latter part when Bruce Willis showed up (as himself).

Gary Oldman is finally an Oscar-nominated actor.  The academy is now slightly less of a joke.

It's a good thing that the title of this thread is "2012 Oscar Nominations", otherwise your post would look a little silly.

50/50. A very effective blend of humour and emotion.

Misery. Very good, although it kind of reminded me of The King of Comedy.

Something to note about this thread: It's probably best to post your opinion (however brief it may be) of the movie/s you claim to have watched, otherwise it looks like you are post-paddling. (And no, I'm not singling out the above poster. It happens semi-regularly.)

Unbreakable. Decent flick. Oh, and I didn't think the ending was that bad.

Reservoir Dogs. The plot was somewhat incoherent, but the acting was excellent.

Apparently the users of IMDb think Avengers is one of the top thirty movies of all-time. I can't really judge because I haven't seen it yet. Oh, and it already has over 51,000 votes, and it hasn't even been released in the U.S. yet, correct?

A made-for-TV movie - James Dean.  James Franco (in one of his early roles) played him very well. Incredibly sexy too. Wink

The Wise Kids. A fairly recent but obscure movie about a church in the South whose young members are having a number of personal issues. I didn't think much to it at first but it improved as it went along.
