Trump mishandled the coronavirus and along with all his other flaws as Prez, isn't gonna beat Biden

Considering how much Trump got away with in the past, this is a daring statement. But the sole justification of this President has been maintaining a strong economy (that he inherited from Obama, but to whom he will give no credit) -- when that goes, his support decreases to the level of the two biggest losers among incumbent Presidents in the last century -- Hoover and Carter.

The last that I saw, we are still in the "falling knife" stage of a bear market, and this one looks more like the end of a long bull than some short-term blip (e.g., 1987). There is time for a recession, but not for a recovery before the November election. Any recovery will have the letter "D" following it.

About everyone knows a physician (which is not the case for scientists of any kind, economists, diplomats, or senior military officers) and almost everyone has respect for the medical profession; it is extremely unwise to contradict medical science as a public figure. What the physician does not know about a disease such as COVID-19 is basically what nobody else knows.

Trump has been getting away with contradicting the experts because many Americans, especially those deplorable types who want to level the purportedly-exploitative and oppressive intellectuals that those "low-information voters" envy. One can get away with such until people get hurt or killed.

Much of the rest of America seems to be ahead of the President, even sacrificing short-term profits, to avoid a catastrophe that COVID-19 can be. People are starting to think beyond the profits for the current quarter.
