Answer:

Nobody. Maybe Obama shouldn't have egged on Donald Trump. Maybe Hillary Clinton should have concentrated on protecting states that she needed to win instead of widening the map. Maybe she should have campaigned for Democratic candidates for the Senate. Maybe the media were slow to warn people of the folly of voting for Trump.

But let us remember: America got the perfect storm in which impatience with economic distress met a demagogue more adept at casting blame than offering solutions. We have an educational system that has failed to teach any moral values, and thus no ability to judge the amorality of a political monster. We have put economic gain ahead of morality, and we get a President who makes much the same appeals as televangelists selling their Gospel of Wealth.  

So turn this on the other side. Who would be most to blame had Trump lost?

A. Mitt Romney
B. Mitt Romney
C. Mitt Romney
D. All of the above

We should have heeded Mitt Romney. He told us what Donald Trump was like, and everything that he said about Donald Trump has proved true.
