Damage done:

45. Buchanan
44. A. Johnson
43. Hoover
42. TRUMP
41. George W. Bush

Potential for damage due to mistakes committed

45. Buchanan
44. TRUMP
43. A. Johnson
42. Hoover
41. George W. Bush

At this time in 1929 the Hoover economy was humming along. It's hard to see what could be  a modern equivalent of putting America at risk of dissolution in a war between regions.

He's the worst person to ever become President.  In terms of accomplishments that are positive for the country's progress, he has zilch.

He has none of the positive qualities other bad Presidents have had.  There's nothing redeeming about him- he's just a very insecure, mentally ill, nasty man who has no business being in charge of anything.

Add "hollow" or "shallow".

Revision:

He has yet to deal incompetently with an economic meltdown that began much like the one starting in late 2007 as did Herbert Hoover because there has been no such meltdown. One consequence of that meltdown was the rise of Adolf Hitler and all the destruction that resulted from the appearance of the leader who ruled about as Satan would have.

The danger of the situation in Korea alone forces me to make a subtle change:

There can be more deaths in Korea than there were in the American Civil War. As incompetent as Donald Trump was in dealing with American evil, I can hardly see how more competent he can be in dealing with the evil that is North Korean leadership.

Hoover meant well and had a moral compass. That was not enough.
