No. The Republican Party is unable to pit poor blacks against middle-class blacks as it has done with white people.

Wisconsin statewide politics would practically shut down the Republican Party as a statewide influence except that the suburbs of Milwaukee vote more like the suburbs of Dallas than like the suburbs of Detroit or Chicago.

I concur. Scott Walker won by exploiting contempt for minorities, especially the poor and black. If Democrats can keep together the "we are in it all together" message, then they can beat him nationally.

But -- his message well serves the Right -- anti-abortion (so that there can be a population explosion), anti-worker, anti-intellectual, and anti-environmentalist. People who want maximal profits irrespective of the human cost will love him. I have yet to see whether he is as much a warmonger as other Republicans... if he is, then that could help him in the primaries but lose in the general election.

He's Barry Goldwater without the virtues, Jesse Helms without the common touch.
