Conservatives might have some restraint on violence. In the old days they had no problem rejecting the neo-Nazi and Klan rhetoric of murder and beatings. Fascists consider violence just another political tool.
The American Right is no longer conservative in the old sense. Its use of the word 'conservative' has become a euphemism for callous rejection of everything liberal and humanistic. Edmund Burke would find them appalling.
