I still say Huckabee is horribly, horribly overrated as a candidate. Right now people know him as the avuncular seemingly generic conservative on Fox. There's no way he could hide his strong membership of "the rapture religious right" once he ran, and his advocacy of replacing a graduated income tax with a national sales tax would turn many many many voters off if he didn't jettison it.

Indeed. Being avuncular won't be enough.

Anyone who offers to replace the income tax with a national sales tax will need to answer the question "What's in it for me?" There would have to be huge increases in jobs and higher pay in compensation.
