Colorado’s Independent Legislative Redistricting Commission has voted 10-2 to end prison gerrymandering for new STATE legislative maps. Inmates will now be counted at their last known address instead of where they're incarcerated at.

The separate congressional panel voted Thursday to keep the status quo.

First tally for commissioner votes is split 5 (Staff Plan 3 Coleman Amendment), 1 (Tafoya Amendment 2), 5 (Headwaters Amended), 1 (Schell Moore Kelly Coleman Amendment).

8 votes including 2 unaffiliated votes are needed for a map to pass.

Tally for Round 2:

Staff Plan 3 Coleman Amendment - 7 votes
P.007.Tafoya ("Headwaters Amended") - 3 votes
Tafoya Workshop Adjusted - 2 votes

Looking like the Coleman Amendment map will be the final map.

Is this the most recent one they published last week?
The Coleman Amendment is a slight adjustment of the third staff plan.

The Tafoya Workshop Adjusted Map is far more DEM friendly than the Coleman one. CO-03 is 0.3 points more DEM. CO-05 is 0.1 points more DEM. CO-06 is 0.4 points more DEM. CO-07 is 2 points more DEM. CO-08 has a larger shift and is 6 points more DEM.

It kinda sounds like the 4 R's plus Schell are solid on voting for Coleman, so I assume it's deadlocked.  The other 7 all support Tafoya now.
How many more rounds are there before Staff Plan 3 is automatically chosen?

Why would Staff Plan 3 be chosen?
Because if the commission deadlocks it will be the plan submitted to the state Supreme Court.

The unedited one?  Didn't realize that.   What are the number for CO-8 on that map?
Went from Trump +1.8 to Biden +4.6.

Round 5 Tally:

Staff Plan 3 Coleman Amendment - 4 votes

Tafoya Workshop Adjusted Amendment - 4 votes

P.008.Shepherd Macklin ("Schuster Amended") - 4 votes

This is the partisanship of P.008 (It's 5-3 DEM here but was 5-3 GOP in 2016):

wtf?

it'll be hilarious if this bizarre gerrymander is what the commission ends up passing. Who voted for it?

It looks like Espinoza, Leone, Shepherd Macklin, and Wilkes voted for P.008

Commission has chosen the Coleman Amendment on a voice vote of 11-1. It now goes to the CO Supreme Court.
