Finances Update:

Elway - $1,022,050
Duffield - $450,000
Adams - $306,050
Castillo, Fujimori and Walzinger - $300,000
Castillo-Tozer - $270,000

(Elway is the first candidate to cross the million-dollar mark and is well ahead of all candidates in terms of his war chest - he outpaces the runner-up, Duffield, by more than a 2 to 1 ratio. He outpaces Carmen Castillo-Tozer, who has the least funds, by a nearly 4 to 1 ratio.)

I have thus far forgotten to add single-dollar donations and general small donations to the candidate's funds, so I am adding it now for all candidates.

Elway: $1029350 (he has gotten $7300)
Duffield: $450500 (she has gotten $500)
Adams: $318060 (he has gotten $12100)
Castillo and Fujimori: $303000 (they have both gotten $3000)
Walzinger: $302000 (he has gotten $2000)
Castillo-Tozer: $280400 (she has gotten $10400)

A local organization has organized a debate between the Republican candidates for congress, and all 3 - Fujimori, Adams and Walzinger - have been invited. They now have a period of 72 hours to either accept or decline. If at least 2 people do not accept the debate will be cancelled and polling will be affected accordingly. If at least 2 people do answer, then the debate questions will be posted one at a time on January 18-19, after the 4th round begins. Each participant should answer each question, preferably on time. After the debate, public opinion polling regarding the winner will be released, and fundraising will be impacted accordingly. New polling numbers will be released, and the 5th round will begin, on January 20, 21 or 22 (still unsure on that, but it will be confirmed when this current round ends).

Jordan Adams accepts invitation to Republican debate

The debate will be held next week

Great! Now unless neither Fujimori nor Walzinger accept, the debate will go ahead as planned.

THE GENERAL ELECTION

Players have agreed to fast-track to the general election since there is only 1 Democrat in the primary (Castillo-Tozer) and one Republican (Adams). Two independents (John Elway and Jo Duffield) are also participating.

To accomodate for the general, both candidates have had their campaign war chests replenished, with $550,000, each. Each new turn will bring another $20,000, provided by the DCCC or NRCC. Each new turn will also have more money added to candidates through donations - this money can be as little as $500, and as much as $10,000. As for independents, they will retain their current sums plus another $10,000 each (so $460,500 for Duffield; $1,039,350 for Elway), and they can earn money through fundraisers and other donations. Finances will be regularly updated, but candidates are requested to also independently keep score of their own finances in all their posts.

Other rules and options - such as internal polling, press releases, town halls, campaign rallies, and fundriasers - will remain the same and cost the same, but there is no longer any cap on the number of town halls that may be held in a turn. Debates, town halls, and other multi-candidate forums will be announced as necessary and not attending will hurt the polling/fundraising, whereas attending and performing well will help it.

As far as endorsements are concerned, Democrats/Republicans can no longer persue endorsements, since both have received standard endorsements: Carmen Castillo-Tozer won the endorsement of prominent Democrats like Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi and Colorado Democrats like Jared Polis and Senators Bennet and Hickenlooper, while Jordan Adams is being supported by prominent right-wing figures, such as Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell, as well as Colorado's controversial, far-right Rep. Lauren Boebart, among others. Green Independent Duffield has won a few local endorsements from back home in Brighton; Independent Elway has caught bigger fish, such as ex-senator Lincoln Chaffee, as well as ex-senator and near-vice-president Joe Liebermann and, surprisingly, retiring Representative Adam Kinzinger of Illinois.

One final note. As far as events are concerned, note that the game is set several months ahead of where we actually are (February 2022), and any events that happen between now and then will not be included and will be disregarded entirely, obviously. For example, if Jared Polis (hypothetically, and for the sake of exmaple) resigns suddenly in May this year, that obviously won't be factored into the game and will not matter.

Now, may the best candidate win, and without further ado, here's the current polling:

Jordan Adams (R): 44%
Carmen Castillo-Tozer (D): 42%
John Elway (I): 5%
Jo Duffield (IG): 2%
Undecided/Other: 7%

The date at which the next round begins is not yet determined and will be given a bit later, but anticipate each round to last roughly 10 days or thereabouts, and for the next to likely begin on February 11, 12 or 13.

All 4 candidates are entitled to one free internal poll in this round (PM me when you want it and I'll have it for you soon thereafter), because the next round will now only begin on February 23 or 24, and polling will only be updated then.

UPDATE: John Elway is dropping out of the race, reducing it to 3 candidates. A majority of Elway's supporters are now undecided, making the race more competitive than before. The updated polling is below. Note that the next round will not begin February 11-13 as initially planned, and no candidate is entitled to free internal polling any longer (you can still pay $800 for it, though). Anyway, here's the polling with Elway having left the race:

Jordan Adams (R): 45%
Carmen Castillo-Tozer (D): 43%
Jo Duffield (IG): 2%
Undecided: 10%

Since things are sluggish at the moment, a little cash incentive - the first person to play will have the first $100 of their campaign expenses paid for, no questions asked.

After Carmen Castillo-Tozer very abruptly drops out, Jordan Adams is the only remaining candidate, and thus goes on to win the November general election by default.
