I think everyone teared up or more when they saw this today. Brought back flashes of teammate Cory Lidle. The world just never gets better. I had my own tweet about it, but Dick Nixon said it better: "My God, the people who run this thing do everything possible to kill what was once appealing about it."

That's four major tragedies in the last 2 years of Baseball. We lose so many of the greats so young. Flashes of Santo for the Hall of Fame ceremony.

RIP...I do hear that great players get very good sympathy votes for the Hall of Fame if they had several dominating years and their numbers don't quite get there, and Halladay fits that category.

Maybe this gets him in.

He threw a perfect game and a no-hitter in the same season, led the league in complete games 7 different times, won the Cy Young in both leagues, threw 20 shutouts, had 200 career wins, a career era of 3.38, 2117 strikeouts, a career WAR of 65.6, and was an 8-time all star. How the hell are those not HoF numbers?
