If she plans to abolish the holiday entirely and make Election Day a federal holiday/day off work or school.

That would be devastating to tourism in New England. I would support renaming Columbus day, AND making Election Day a holiday.

I'm not from nor have I ever been to New England, but what about Colombus Day attracts tourists? Is it an easy day trip for New Yorkers or something?

Ever see the Family Guy episode when the tourists come to stare at the leaves change colour?
