Court continuing to rule in favor of freedom, and though this seems like a very minor issue, I find it extraordinarily important considering the conditions inmates are traditionally subjected to in this country to remove any aspect of humanity and individuality.
And I'm even sicker of the counter-argument "Oh, a truly religious person, wouldn't have committed such a severe crime." Probably
some truth to that, but a) this goes beyond freedom of religion. That's just the stepping stone used to pass the right decision; and b) how are you holier to pass that judgment.
It gets even worse when people honestly think this belongs as part of the punishment.
