Why would he be better than Dean? Dean was excellent.

Dean wasn't excellent in the public role a DNC chairman should play.

He was at least decent at it, and I agree with his economically moderate-socially liberal policies far more than Kaine's populism. We need to appeal to the mountain West, and libertarianism is the only way to do so.
