I'm not a fan of Section 3, but I'm willing to work with you on it.

Also, amendment offered as friendly to change Dept. of Treasury (Labor Sub-Dept.) to the Office of Atlasia Labor (OAL). It was created by previous legislation.

So what is the middle ground?

Nay. We need to do better at amending this.

I'm not really a fan of that entire first line. I agree with providing vocational training to help them learn a skill. Perhaps have them go to 5 hours of a job consultation a week, which would help them prepare for interviews, find jobs, etc.

Well, after a year, you will be more than prepared with that plan.

That's the hope.

Why not as an option include job training programs, such as places that help you create a resume, train for interviews, etc.

I like this Senate's legislative skill. Nay to lowering/tinkering, Nay to altering the two to compensate the other, Nay to abolishing it.

What do you people want?

I think the problem is that no one is doing the right kind of tinkering. These hours of job searching is garbage. Make it a combination of community service and/or attending a job training class and/or vocational training. That seems more viable, but no one has introduced that sort of amendment yet.

How many people here have any experience (even second hand will do, frankly) of a welfare system? How many have any academic (for want of a better term) knowledge of the subject? How many have, hah, even a decent general knowledge of it?

I'm just curious, that's all.

The same  number, I imagine, that have such knowledge about health care, nuclear waste refining, high speed rail construction, etc.

I hope that we can just let this veto stand and then re-do this bill in the next session. No one really likes this bill and there's a fair bit we should change.

I doubt it could happen before the end of the term, so I imagine that this will be the case.
