LOL Do you guys really believe that he can beat Corzine?  Just look at him!  I know that's a very shallow comment, but most voters are shallow and with Democrats being as strong as they are right now, there's no way a Republican can win in a state like NJ.

*waiting for Phil to storm down here*

To paraphrase him, the political environment might be different in 2010, so you can't really make a judgment like that.

2009.

Latest FDU poll:

Corzine vs. Christie: 40-33
Corzine vs. Lonegan: 46-28
Corzine vs. Merkt: 43-23

Favorable Ratings:

Corzine: 42% favorable, 44% unfavorable
Christie: 23% favorable, 6% unfavorable

GOP primary:

32% Christie
15% Lonegan
5% Merkt

The Fairleigh Dickinson University poll of 831 registered voters statewide was conducted by telephone from Jan. 2, 2009 through Jan. 7, 2009, and has a margin of error of +/- 3.5 percentage points.  Samples for some questions, as noted in tables, are smaller.

I think this pretty much tells us everything we need to know.  There's no way Corzine will lose the elections.  Christie sounds like a decent guy, having done things that Republicans never do (such as enforcing environmental protection laws), but he simply doesn't have a chance.  We'll see though.
