I think he should do it in Honolulu, not because I live here (I probably won't be here anyway by the time the library is built) but because it's rare that someone from Hawaii can rise to the top of American politics and it would be really important for the city. I totally understand the symbolism of the first black president having his presidential library in one of the cultural capitals of black America rather than a place that is 2% black, but Chicago will have more opportunities to get a presidential library, and I'm sure there will be more black presidents. I also agree with those who say that Obama feels that Honolulu is home. If Hilary is the next president she can build her library in Chicago.
