second, Reed built the GA GOP. That's like saying George Washington was bad for America. No intelligent person would say it.
Well, there's a difference between "good as a behind-the-scenes party builder" and "good as a candidate"...

he is good in both areas...at least in georgia.

the democrats are delusional.  i guess the ones that think ralph reeed is a bad georgia candidate are the same ones that thought inez was going to pick up the senate seat in sc and bowles was going to wipe the floor with burr.

I don't think they had a better candidate around in SC...Tenenbaum didn't win, but at least she gave Graham a run for his money. Don't know enough about Bowles, really. I think NC Senate races should be winnable for Dems.

just for the record, i like bowles.  he is very pro-business (for a democrat).  of course i voted for burr, who will be an excellent senator.

by the way, i hear that bowles may become president of the university of north carolina 16 campus system.

the senate seats are winnable for the dems in nc.  their candidates just seem to be poor.  bowles wasnt poor, but he lacked charisma.

if former governor jim hunt would have run in 2002, he could have easily beaten elizabeth dole.
