Bush was up by 4-5 points nationally and ended up spending the last few days campaigning in California, while Gore spend his last few days in Florida.

The Gore team had a unexpectedly strong union backed turnout drive, which caught Republicans off guard.
Its crazy how much the country changed in just four years. In 2000, Bush was campaigning in California. In 2004, people joked that California would rather join Canada than have another term of Bush...
