2. A small minority of Portuguese people that are loud and still butthurt/resented about Brazil being independent global player with more presence than them that they like to be Anti-Brazil just for the sake of it.
Just want to savor the moment of the guys that’s cheerleading an imperial war of conquest because of something something west bad complaining about ‘Anti-Brazil’ sentiment.

Russia is convinced that Ukraine is going to attack their territory to swap it out for Ukrainian held land
But don’t worry they are going to take insignificant village a few KM from the front sometime in the next 9 months and then the whole war will be won.

For everyone who has cited “muh NATO aggression” Putin has openly admitted that the war is about his Slavic version of Großgermanisches Reich der Deutschen Nation

Que the both sides brigade
Ukraine isn’t offering education in the language of their colonizers, so that just as bad

This is needed. So much of the commentary about the Ukrainian offensive is this idea that we will have one big war ending push and then we start the peace process with whatever lines are there afterwards.
We need to recognize that the likely scenario is Ukraine takes what it can without overextending, holds and reconsolidates for another push. Peace is not possible as long as any part of Ukraine is under occupation.

Suggest reading this thread - Very detailed about Russia's trench systems (specifically the south), what it's purpose are, and expectations for the counter-offensive.

Yeah that’s called defense in depth. Everyone figured that out in 1915

So the UK has apparently handed out all it's promised Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine. Anyone have a number on how many? Only figure I can find is 14. If that's true, that's laughably low.

They doubled it to 28.
That’s 28 times the number of tanks Putin rolled out on 5/9

Russia tried to destroy US-made Patriot system in Ukraine.

Russia tried to destroy a US-made Patriot air defense system in Ukraine last week with a hypersonic missile, two US officials told CNN.

The attack failed, and the Ukrainian military instead intercepted the missile using the Patriot system, the officials said, marking their first known successful Ukrainian use of the advanced air defense system only weeks after it arrived in country.

It's seems that Woody's hypersonic missiles failed.

Russian wonderweapons/marketing stunts failed to have any noticeable impact? I’m shocked, shocked,

The DRG group in Belgorod Oblast was caught committing a war crime today. They shot at a civilian car and seized it. Good job trying to convince people you're the "liberators"

Dude, your imaginary boyfriend is waging a genocidal campaign of conquest. No amount of collateral damage is going to convince anyone that the victims are the bad guys here.

"air defense takes down a Russian helicopter near New York" is a real headline:

[There is a small town named New York in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. It first appeared on maps in 1846, but the origin of the name isn't known. Presumably someone locally prominent enough to name a settlement had a connection of some sort with the United States.]
I can’t remember the name, but isn’t there some village in the Donbas named after a random Welsh guy?

It's almost as if leaders that start and fail to win wars end up becoming unpopular:

I’m still predicting Putin ‘wins’ his next election in a shocking 98 point upset.

I’m pretty sure there aren’t 10,000 UA drones in the first place, but who am I to argue with America’s tabloid of record.
Keep coping bro

ETA: OK this look like a total including Amazon/Alibaba Express civilian market stuff thrown together.
Also the report paints a different picture across the entire front, NYpost and our most fascist cheerleading posters decided to run with one line.

The governor of Belgorod Oblast has announced the end of the "counter-terrorist" operation. The remaining AFU DRGs who survived has retreated from the Oblast.

Now that it is over, what exactly was achieved here again?

...to show the world that Russia has left own territory undefended while most of its troops are in Ukraine

AFU could just drive into Russia and seize Belgorod if US and Europe gives the OK.
But that would be breaking he rulez! Russia gets to bomb you, you don’t get to bomb Russia. Fighting back if for terrorists.
What’s a whirlwind?

I don't know who did it, but I am leaning towards Russia. Seems like a strategic play in their part. This morning (Ukrainian time) the Ukrainian garrisons finally withdrew from the islands located in the Dnieper due to the flooding. Crimea already taps other reservoirs for water and before the invasion they usually just shipped it off from Russia.
Seriously, you’re not sure have who blew the damn that Russia rigged to blow?

One way or another, had Russian forces stayed in Kherson versus pulling out in Nov 2022 and this dam was blown up, it could have been a military disaster for Russia with their forces being cut off North of the Dnieper River.  So regardless of who did it the timing of it was not as bad for Russia.  So in that sense, this is an argument for Russia being behind it
The other argument being that Russia mined the dam 6 months ago. It was discussed at the time.
When something blows up, assume it’s the people that rigged it with explosives until proven otherwise.

The Collective West is starting to change narratives on this war.

It doesn’t evidence an epiphany or anything,  this stuff was on everyones faces from the start, but it reflects how they think it’s less likely for Ukraine to come off as fully victorious from this.

So they’re beginning to build this narrative of “OMG we’ve been lied to, there are Nazis there” in order to create a moral argument to drop support so that if Ukraine loses, it will be because the West has chosen instead of losing to Russia.

It’s a way so that only Ukraine is seen as the “loser” from the conflict and a potential defeat perception isn’t extended to the countries who gave it weapons and money.

JFC dude. ‘Oh noes, some kid put a Swastika on his helmet, I guess that means we have to ethnically cleanse Ukraine’ is only a thought that would occur to a xenophobic tankie trying to make the world conform to his knee jerk anti-American conspiracy theories.

How would you know 100%? You're just a guy from Illinois. Do you have the Russian and Ukrainian battle plans?
I know it was widely reported that Russia mined this dam after withdrawing from Kherson and we had a wide round of reporting re: will they do it and what will happen when they do and that they were in control of the dam.
Like it doesn’t take any specialized knowledge to figure out who blew up the dam that Russian army was guarding that had planted explosives in 6 months ago.
