Rodrigo Blankenship (who looks very shaky, possibly hurt) just missed an extra point, the 13th miss of the weekend.  This is the most misses of any weekend in the Super Bowl era.

This is also the first weekend with double-digit misses in both FGs and PATs since at least 2015, when the extra point kick distance was increased.

While it didn't work out for the Eagles last night, I wanted to note that I loved Sirianni's decision to try that 2 point conversion.  Going for 2 after cutting it from 14 to 8 is something analytics people have been clamoring for years about, and it's nice to see it finally starting to catch on a little more (even if the announcers were kind of dumbfounded about it).

Basically, it's that, if you make it, you only need an extra point to win, while, if you miss it, you can get a second shot.  Assuming you score twice (and using a 50% 2PC rate and 100% XP success rate to simplify things), your chances are this:

Go for 2:
50% Win in regulation
25% OT
25% Lose in regulation

Go for 1:
100% OT

I agree, and the rate of extra point misses this year makes going for 2 an even better decision!

Many years ago I attended a game in the original version of the WFL (World Football League).  That league did away with kicking the extra point entirely.  TDs scored 7 points and were followed by an "action point" try, which was like the current 2-pointer but worth only 1 point.

The Giants leads the Panthers at halftime 5-3, not exactly a common score.

Can this really be happening?  The Falcons manage the clock well at the end of a game to pull out a victory and get to .500?  I must be dreaming.

You have to let me know if I'm accidentally leaving games off the schedule.

I've done this for you earlier this season (at least in the college pick'em), but you didn't leave off any this week.

I point out omissions when I see them, but this isn't guaranteed to happen; sometimes I'm still recording picks after games have started, in which case it's too late to provide a missing pick.  Also, I will point out an omission once in this thread; if the player still doesn't make the pick, I'm not going to chase them for it.  Ultimately, everyone is responsible for making sure all their picks are posted.

Not that. Since I'm hosting the pick'em, I would love a heads-up if I'm accidentally leaving games off of the actual NFL Schedule for the week.

Definitely.

I picked a bad week to predict the Lions' first win lmao. Eagles could have >50 points by the end of this.

There's never a good week to predict a Lions win. Wink

With the early games complete, olawakandi is 8-1, missing only Bengals-Jets (which everyone missed).  Three people are 7-2 and three others are 6-3.

We will not discuss how I'm doing this week.
