It might cause him to lose some weight, which would be good for his overall health, but on balance the risks of it at his age would make it an overall no.

They're not talking about it in this forum because there's already an active thread in USGD: https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=355597.0.

Do you really think that Trump cares about the health and safety of his supporters? I don't think they even care, they'll still line up around the corner in order to see the living embodiment of their id babble about whatever meandering thoughts he has, and in turn Trump will keep holding rallies for that reason. It's symbiosis.

I know a couple of Trump supporters who think the virus is no big deal ("not as bad as the flu" one told me today) because that's what they pick up from Trump and Facebook.

Fear of getting infected at the polling places will lead to lower turnout, and lower turnout helps Republicans. What do you guys think?

I think this is the new leader for dumbest take yet on the virus.

That didn't stop voters on Super Tuesday.

Anyway, we don't even know if this pandemic will still be relevant by November. Regardless, it should still be used against Trump as an example of how incompetent his administration is.

How has his administration been incompetent?
Seriously, what the hell are you supposed to do when something like this is spreading all over the world?!
Wave a wand and somehow create a vaccine out of thin air?

Don't cripple the agencies responsible for preparedness ahead of time.

Respond quickly when the first threat became apparent, rather than wasting weeks hoping it would blow over

Don't minimize the potential threat or current spread.

Don't spread disinformation like "in a couple of months it will all be over".

In general, don't put the President's political interests ahead of the nation's interests.

...etc...

No one thought it would blow up the way it did, no one!

He’s not trying to minimize the threat, but rather trying to calm
People down.
People are overly freaking out. There’s no reason for people to be stocking up on water and toilet paper like it’s the end of the world. This isn’t a joke, but the news seriously is freaking people out

This is not the case.  If you are actually open to more details about the early response and how critical time was lost, https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/07/us/politics/trump-coronavirus.html is a good starting point.
